The best use of AI for cycling

Like everything we see these days, AI has been no slouch in infiltrating cycling. Our favourite home-town roadie hero Sam Bewley recently revealed on the Detour podcast how he has been using AI in his role as directeur sportif at NSN cycling, and he won’t be the only DS using AI to plan team composition, race tactics, and more.

More than just providing annoying Strava summaries of your rides, AI is now being used for bike fit, nutrition management, technique analysis and workout planning.

And to think we used to worry about riders losing panache and road smarts as they rode to their numbers, not their gut.

So AI is here to stay and while we here at Soigneur will continue to use real people to write this stuff, we have seen some excellent uses for it of late:

  • We’ve been able to transform flat knitting-machine-ready jersey designs into more realistic pictures that make it easier for customers to envisage what their custom design will look like.
  • We’ve been able to produce great pics of custom jerseys that we made but which did not fit our mannequin.
  • We've been able to create realistic pics showing how changes to existing jersey designs will look.

And we’ve even had customers using AI themselves to help create designs for us to make. Simply take your AI programme of choice, ask it to use the jerseys on our website to learn what makes for a great Soigneur design, and then tell it what you want in your own jersey.

The results we have been sent by customers have been great and provide a wonderful first-step in creating custom designs, especially for the less artistic amongst us.

So have a play and see how AI can help you get the custom jersey you want - it certainly beats Strava AI telling us we should take a rest day when the sun is shining and you’d have a tailwind!
