Tom Simpson Merino Wool Cycling Jersey
Tom Simpson was one of Britain’s most successful professional cyclists.
He was the first Briton to wear the yellow jersey in the Tour de France and in 1965 became Britain's first World Champion in the road race.
He won Milan-San Remo, the Giro Lombardia, Paris-Nice and the Tour of Flanders.
But he is best known for his untimely death on the 13th stage of the 1967 Tour de France.
Climbing Mont Ventoux, Simpson lost time on the front group and began to zig-zag across the road before falling a kilometer from the summit.
On his insistence – his last words being 'On, on, on' - he was put back on his bike and he managed another 500m before falling unconscious on the bike, held up by spectators, hands clenched on the handlebars. Helicoptered to hospital, he died about an hour later, still with amphetamines and other unknown drugs in his jersey pockets.
Simpson’s main team was Peugeot, and so our commemorative Tom Simpson jersey uses the older Peugeot font while the shoulders have GB (for Great Britain) in the BP shield. The neck and armbands are in the World Champs rainbow stripes as worn by Simpson in 1966.

In the unusual event you receive a flawed product, return it within a fortnight with a note explaining why you are unhappy and we will send you a replacement at no charge within a fortnight of receiving your returned item. If you wish to exchange for a different size, we can do that too, just return it to us and specify the replacement size you want and we will send you your replacement within the normal production time of 1-2 weeks.
