I bought a Nite lights 1200 Destroyer a few weeks ago and recently got the chance to try it out in Whakarewarewa forest in Rotorua.
Wow what a cool light! It is awesomely bright and being LED it is a very white light and shows up the shadows of roots and the dips really well.
After always using halogen lights with lead acid batteries in the past I just couldn't believe how light and compact the batteries are.
The light and battery weighs just 300gms! light enough to have the battery in your jersey pocket and not even know that it is there.
Whaka forest at night is a real adventure, I saw 6 wallabies, 4 possums and a morepork owl which flew right in front of me and perched on a log only a few meters away.
The main reason I bought the light was believe it or not to use during the day on my road bike as it can be set on strobe and alerts dopey motorists that there is a cyclist they need to give way to.
This light on strobe is so bright that even during the day you can see it from about a kilometre away!
